Four FR/SO Qualify for 2014 FR/SO State Championships

While the official season is over, the "unofficial" season marches on.  Eight FR/SO wrestlers competed for the Mustangs at the FR/SO Sectional Tournament at Hinsdale South High School on Sunday, March 9th.  The top four wrestlers from this meet advance to the FR/SO State Tournament in Springfield, IL on March 15-16.  Two Mustangs won FR/SO Sectional titles as Tyree Johnson (SO-132) and Zach Muller (FR-220) claimed 1st place.  Patrick Wilson (SO-195) advanced to his second FR/SO State Tournament with a 3rd Place finish and Calum Bonds (SO-120) also advanced with a 4th place finish.  Sophomores Cormac Burke (126) and Patrick Azer (101), and Freshmen Ryan Olsen (120) and Jacob Chisholm (132) also competed for the Mustangs but did not advance to the state tournament.

The four remaining Mustangs will compete at the Prarie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, IL next Saturday and Sunday where the hope to place in the top eight of the FR/SO State Championships.
