Four Mustang Wrestlers Participate in College Camp

Four Mustang Wrestlers participated in an invitation only camp at Oak Park & River Forest High School this past Saturday and Sunday.  The camp was put together by OPRF's Coach Mike Powell to highlight some of the best wrestlers in the state of IL, and to get them some additional exposure to College coaches.  Several schools from several divisions were represented at the camp including:  Northern Illinois, Indiana, George Mason, UW, Parkside, UW Whitewater, Iowa, Coe College (IA), DuBuque (IA), Maryville (MO) among others.  The wrestlers were exposed to top level technique in a high intensity atmosphere.  Clinicians included Mike Powell of OPRF HS, 2012 US Olympian Ellis Coleman, current Iowa Hawkeye Sam Brooks, and Team IL Greco Coach Bryan Medlin.

The Mustang program was represented by the following wrestlers:

Junior- HWT- Michael Hobbs
Senior- 120/126- Anthony DiCristofano
Senior- 138/145- RJ Hickok
Senior- 152/160- Alex Anaya

Also, the Mustang Wrestling program wanted to congratulate Tim Harms, father of SO Matt Harms, on his recent conquest of the Grand Canyon.  Tim recently ran with a group up and down the Grand Canyon (about 45-47 miles) with an elevation change of about 20,000 ft (10,000 up and 10,000) down.  Tim called upon his wrestling background for the mental toughness in this endurance event.  As Dan Gable once said, "Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy!"  Apparently this now includes running up and down the Grand Canyon.
