Hobbs Qualifies for Cadet Nationals

Sophomore HWT Michael Hobbs won the IL Freestyle 2nd Chance Tournament at Sycamore High School on Saturday, clinching a spot on Team IL and earning the right to compete at the Cadet National Championships in Fargo, ND in July.  Hobbs will most likely compete in both Freestyle and Greco as he was the 3rd place finisher in the Greco State Tournament as well.  This accomplishment caps off a great Spring for Hobbs where he was a FR/SO State Qualifier, 3rd at the Freestyle State Tournament, and 3rd at the Greco State Tournament.  Hobbs will no doubt represent the Mustangs well at Fargo in July.  Michael will be selling raffle tickets to help fund his trip to Fargo.  If you would like to purchase one for $20 from Michael, please contact Michael or Coach Lovelace to purchase one (or many). 

Juniors Anthony DiCristofano and Alex Anaya also competed at the 2nd Chance Tournament in Freestyle.  Anaya made it to the finals at 170 lbs, but lost a tight battle in two out of three periods barely missing out on making Team IL for the second time in his high school career.
