Hobbs Goes 2-2 at FR/SO State Tournament

Sophomore Mike Hobbs competed at the 2012 FR/SO State Tournament at the Prairie Convention Center in Springfield, IL this past weekend.  Hobbs went into the tournament on a six match winning streak and continued his run with a first round pin over his Thornwood opponent at 4:24.  Hobbs continued to roll with a 13-2 major decision victory over Justin Diddell from Kaneland which put him into the Quarterfinals.  Hobbs lost a tight battle 5-3 vs his opponent from Niles West, and this put him in the wrestlebacks on Sunday morning.  in the wrestlebacks, Hobbs battled again and needed one more near fall count to win the match.  However, hobbs fell 5-4 to Joe Smith from Jacksonville.  This ended Mike's run with a 2-2 record for the tournament.  Becoming a FR/SO state qualifier caps of a great SO season for Hobbs.  He did not lose a regular season match and won a total of four tournaments on the season.  Hobbs will be an impact wrestler next year for the Mustangs at HWT, you can guarantee that.
